Dr David Graham FRANZCP MAICD

Dr Graham co-founded ratio medicolegal and leads our Melbourne branch. He is passionate about social justice and trauma. He uses his deep skills in psychiatry and psychotherapy to craft nuanced medicolegal reports for claims of historical sexual abuse.

Dr Graham currently works in his own private psychotherapy practice in Sydney, is a Visiting Medical Officer at St John of God Hospital in Richmond (NSW), is the Medical Director of GoodMind Therapeutics, and is a Psychiatrist member of the Mental Health Review Tribunal of NSW.

Dr Graham has advanced qualifications in addition to his MBBS, including a Masters of Psychiatric Medicine and a Doctor of Philosophy, and he is currently pursuing further study with a Master of Health Law. He has also an academic appointment with the University of Sydney and has published a number of peer-reviewed articles and spoken at national and international conferences.

Dr Truls Bratten FRANZCP

Dr Bratten co-founded ratio medicolegal and leads our Sydney branch. He draws on his experience across a wide range of medicolegal areas to produce medicolegal reports for claims of medical negligence and historical sexual abuse.

Dr Bratten currently serves as the staff specialist and director of neurostimulation at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney and is a Psychiatrist member of the Mental Health Review Tribunal, which plays a crucial role in conducting mental health inquiries and making and reviewing orders related to the treatment and care of individuals with mental illness. Dr Bratten has has held various positions in the past, including being a visiting medical officer and head of ECT at Tamworth Hospital, as well as working as a psychiatrist for Warekila and the Headspace early psychosis team at Parramatta Mission.

Dr Bratten’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Sydney’s Sydney Medical School. In addition to his professional experience, Dr Bratten has contributed to the field through his publication on the role of canines in the treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder. He has further expanded his knowledge through various training courses, including those related to workers’ compensation guidelines, advanced ECT, veterans’ mental health, and TMS offered by reputable institutions
